Let’s unite to scrap the course on ethics and religious culture

The course on ethics and religious culture, which the Department of Education, Recreation and Sports created and made compulsory, has stirred up much disapproval both from the teachers who teach it and from the parents whose children are taking it. People feel it’s just a course on reasonable accommodations and promotes multiculturalism to the detriment of Quebec’s culture. Équipe autonomiste has, in its program, a proposal (#25) under study, that aims to do away with the course and replace it with something else. Équipe autonomiste is in favour of a well-rounded education, but such an approach should also, among other things, respect value #5 of our program: “Respect for and maintenance of Quebec’s customs and traditions.” Recently, a motivated and convinced citizen, Karl Poirier, has invited the party to sign a petition he has posted on the National Assembly web site. The petition is consistent with the party’s aims and policies, so we’re inviting our members and the public to sign it by going to: https://www.assnat.qc.ca/fr/exprimez-votre-opinion/petition/Petition-380....
Équipe autonomiste wishes to congratulate Karl Poirier on his involvement in social issues because …
… Criticizing is good, but concrete action is even better!
